We take our duty to safeguard your data seriously and we have created this policy to make sure you are aware of how we use your data. Our Privacy Policy sets out the way we process your personal data and explains your rights.
For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Isle of Man Data Protection Act 2018, the controller is Manx National Youth Band Limited, Jim Crosbie Memorial Bandroom, Derby Road, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM2 3EN.
Personal Data is defined as in the General Data Protection Regulations, that is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ('data subject'); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

The Manx National Youth Band shall gain consent from all individuals, or their legal guardians, before collecting and processing Personal Data. Such consent shall be recorded by the Secretary or appointed deputy.
The Manx National Youth Band and its committee may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
As part of the band's activities, we will take photographs and record videos of our events. Such material will be used solely by the band for publicity e.g. promotional material and other similar information about the band, displayed on our premises, on banners at concerts and on our website, educational and social media purposes, fundraising or other purposes to help achieve the band's aims.
Although we will carefully use images on the basis of our legitimate interests (see above), we understand there may be occasions where individuals give good reason why we should withdraw certain images. If you ask us to withdraw an image with good cause, we will delete the photograph or video and not distribute it further. Images that might cause embarrassment or distress will not be used.
You may visit Jim Crosbie Memorial Bandroom where we have a number of CCTV cameras. We have CCTV cameras for security reasons for the protection of our members and visitors.
CCTV images are held for one week after which they automatically delete.
We do have the capacity to 'hold a playback' which means we can keep the information for longer should there be an incident. The CCTV images may then be used to defend any legal claims. Should your image be held we will inform you.
All Personal Data will be stored appropriately by the committee in either:
Personal Data must never be stored on an unprotected computer without a password.
Should a member of the committee store Personal Data and subsequently leave the committee, they must ensure a copy of such data is provided to the Chairman and then destroy their copy.
Any person may request deletion of their Personal Data. The Chairman shall ensure that all requests are enacted within 14 days of receiving the request.
All Personal Data shall be reviewed at least every six months and any data no longer required shall be destroyed.
Personal Data of any members under 18 shall never be provided to any external body or third party.
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information that we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies in this data corrected.
