Each September, Manx Concert Brass and the Manx National Youth Band join forces to stage a fun-filled celebration of pomp and ceremony.
The Manx Last Night of the Proms is always a popular event as the band is joined by guest artistes for a night of party pieces, party poppers and patriotic flag waving – not to mention obligatory singing!
Under the baton of musical director Ian Clague, pomp and pageantry is guaranteed with rousing renditions of classics such as Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance, Land of Hope and Glory, Johan Strauss’ Radetsky March, Hubert Parry’s Jerusalem - a piece considered England’s unofficial national anthem– and the ever popular Fantasia on British Sea-Songs.
This is an event for both the more serious music lovers and those who simply enjoy the finale and need an excuse to dress up for the night.
Dress in your finery, bring your friends and pretend you’re in the Royal Albert Hall at the beautiful Gaiety Theatre. Warm up your vocal cords and prepare for a fun night out.
